Red Means STOP
People spend a large portion of their day on their phones. Social media, texts surfing the internet and taking pictures keeps them isolated from the environment they inhabit and alters it’s reality. How they perceive the world and their relationships with others is effected.
Signs are designed to make us pause and refocus our attention in order to follow a rule, avoid a hazard or gain information. Pictograms on signs provide a common, nonverbal language to transmit that information regardless of the viewer’s native language.
The Red Means Stop is intended to snap you out of that filtered cyber world and asks you to rethink where you are and who may be standing right next to you.
